Mesquite, turned, carved
9.5" tall x 9" dia.
|The Gallery of J. Paul Fennell Woodturning Art
|This vessel is a metaphor for the various cycles--biological, seasonal, social,
political--that affect us as human beings in different ways. The wood is
from the urban forest of greater Phoenix, Arizona and its suburbs, and is
indicative of the many exotic species that have been introduced into the
urban landscape as attractive ornamental specimens. Mesquite is an
indigenous species native to Arizona.
